MBABANE – Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo has expressed deep gratitude following his reappointment by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for another three-year term.
Nxumalo began by saluting His Majesty the King, saying:
“Government in the Kingdom of Eswatini is formed by Emaswati themselves in total collaboration with the King, hence we rightfully refer to it as His Majesty’s Government. Nalo libandla le CSC, libandla leNgwenyama. Therefore, I find it to be in order to begin by kukhuta lwandle – Bayethe Wena Waphakathi.”
Reflecting on his re-engagement, Nxumalo described it as a profound honor and privilege:
“It is really an honor and privilege for me to be re-engaged by the CSC as the Government Spokesperson for another three-year term.”
He said his confidence stemmed from the guidance of his superiors:
“With the wisdom and guidance of my Principals, I have no doubt whatsoever that the task at hand is not only doable but it will be done.”
Speaking on the evolving nature of politics, Nxumalo emphasized the role of communication:
“The greatest battles in politics today are no longer fought with guns and bullets but with words, narratives and information engagement, seizing opportunities early to tell your story or counter the enemy’s propaganda.”
Nxumalo outlined his vision for the years ahead, stressing collaboration with the media:
“I’m looking forward to consolidating the support of all media platforms and practitioners in the country, which enables our office to be effective in providing timely communication to the nation.”
He concluded by noting his current status while awaiting further instructions:
“Of course, I am yet to get my marching orders from my Principals, especially in the context of being on ‘special leave’ as it were. Till then, thank you for talking to me.”
The reappointment of Alpheous Nxumalo by the CSC reaffirms the trust placed in him to continue shaping and defending the narratives of His Majesty’s Government.
