MBABANE – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has once again recognized Eswatini’s refereeing talent, with two of the country’s top match officials, Zamani Simelane and Banele Thwala, appointed to officiate at the upcoming COSAFA U-17 Boys Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe from 11 to 20 September 2025.
The appointments mark a significant milestone for Eswatini football, showcasing the country’s growing influence and credibility within the regional and continental football landscape. Simelane and Thwala, both seasoned officials with CAF and FIFA credentials, will join a panel of referees entrusted with ensuring fair play, discipline, and high professional standards throughout the tournament.
For Eswatini, the selections not only highlight the quality of its refereeing structures but also serve as an inspiration to aspiring referees across the nation. Their presence in Zimbabwe will give young officials a glimpse of the possibilities that come with dedication, discipline, and excellence in officiating.
The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has expressed pride in their appointment, noting that such opportunities position the country on the continental stage and contribute to the broader development of the game locally.
