MANZINI – Eswatini’s talent, Ceceboy from Lwandle, is preparing to release Kusekhaya La, a song celebrating home, pride, and empowerment.
Eswatini’s rising musical talent, Celumusa Mkhatshwa, popularly known as Ceceboy, hailing from Lwandle, is ready to captivate fans with his upcoming track Kusekhaya La, a song that celebrates the idea of home in both its literal and emotional sense. Scheduled for release very soon, the track is already generating buzz for its unique blend of modern classical Pop Opera and traditional Sibhaca rhythms.
Speaking exclusively about the inspiration behind the song, Ceceboy explained that Kusekhaya La, which translates to “This Is My Home,” reflects how Eswatini is becoming a home for many. “His Majesty King Mswati III constantly encourages EmaSwati to empower themselves rather than depend on foreign aid,” he said. The song aims to evoke a sense of safety, grounding, and pride in one’s homeland.
Ceceboy revealed that the songwriting process began in the early hours of 1 July 2025, while preparing for a performance. Drawing inspiration from speeches by His Majesty King Mswati III and the late His Majesty King Sobhuza II on change and development, he merged his original melodies with traditional songs. “Writing the music was exciting because the melody came when I least expected inspiration. The song fuses both Pop Opera and cultural rhythms,” he said.
The track carries a personal touch, inspired by the idea of a “home place warm enough to call home,” blending experiences from Ceceboy’s community in Lwandle with imaginative musical storytelling. While he admits the song has taken time to finalise, he says it continues to evolve as new ideas emerge during production.
Collaborations on Kusekhaya La include Sancheziey, Simphiwe Mbhamali on piano, Morewish and BlackChild on backup vocals, with production led by Mhlonipheni. Fans are promised an experience of musicality over drama, transporting listeners to an ideal place to call home. Ceceboy hopes the track will inspire listeners to appreciate the richness of Eswatini and its global potential. “Give me a mic on any stage or platform, see what Eswatini has in store,” he said. With its blend of culture, classical influences, and powerful messaging, Kusekhaya La is poised to put Eswatini firmly on the global musical map.
