MBABANE — On a Saturday, 31 May 2025, Manzini North Inkhundla will come alive with color, dance, and celebration as Langalethu Charity Organization hosts Eswatini’s first-ever Disability Culture Day.

The event promises a vibrant showcase of traditional dances, cultural exhibitions, and inspiring talks, all designed to uplift and empower people with disabilities. It’s not just a festival — it’s a powerful message of unity, healing, and inclusion, reminding everyone that our diversity makes the kingdom stronger.

Founder Samkelo Mhlanga, himself a person with a disability, shared his passion: “There’s a gap when it comes to socio-economic empowerment in the disability space. Culture is one of the strongest threads that bind us as Emaswati, teaching us values that shape our lives. This celebration is about coming together, learning, and empowering each other.”

The Strength to Cope Foundation, led by Sikhulile Dlamini, will offer free counseling services during the event. “We’re here to provide emotional support — from trauma to relationship challenges. Many people with disabilities face silent battles, and we want to help restore their confidence and well-being,” she explained, adding that over 10 trained counselors will be on hand.

Another heartwarming highlight is the Sunscreen Drive, co-founded by Bongiwe Dlamini, which will provide sunscreen to people with albinism. “This event is a beautiful expression of unity and inclusion. We’re honored to be part of a safe space where people can celebrate who they are,” she said gratefully.

The entire nation is invited to join this day of love, acceptance, and cultural pride. Disability Culture Day is more than an event — it’s a celebration of resilience, talent, and the bright future that awaits when we stand together.
