MBABANE – In a remarkable step towards enhancing patient care, the Ministry of Health is set to provide a comfortable lodging area for renal dialysis patients at Mbabane Government Hospital (MGH).
This development comes as a relief to patients who have long endured the challenge of lacking a proper holding area to rest while awaiting their turn or after evening dialysis sessions.
The initiative was announced following a visit by the Minister of Health, Mduduzi Matsebula (MP), who inspected the space identified for transformation. The facility includes two rooms, a sitting area, a kitchen, and toilets, ensuring that patients can wait in comfort and dignity. The Ministry’s Planning Unit, in collaboration with the BioMed Unit, is spearheading the refurbishment, with work scheduled for completion next week.
Expressing his satisfaction, Matsebula said, “This has been a thorn for me since I’ve been in office. I’m thrilled that we finally have a decent place for the patients. I commend the facility management for sorting out this matter.”
The lack of adequate holding facilities has been a persistent issue for dialysis patients, who often travel long distances for treatment. This new development is set to significantly alleviate their struggles, providing them with a safe and comfortable environment to rest. The planned lodging area reflects the Ministry of Health’s commitment to improving healthcare services and ensuring that all patients receive care with dignity and respect.
