COMGEN RE-ELECTED TO ACSA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE IN MOROCCO

MBABANE – The Commissioner General of His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS), LaMakhosini Phindile Dlamini, has been successfully re-elected to the African Correctional Services Association (ACSA) executive committee. This election took place on May 14, 2025, during the ACSA’s 7th Biennial Conference held in Rabat, Morocco.

Role and Responsibilities

According to a statement issued by HMCS Deputy Spokesperson Baphelele Kunene, Dlamini now serves as the Regional Vice Chairperson for Southern Africa, continuing her previous term from 2019 to 2023. Her re-election is a testament to her leadership and the confidence placed in her by her peers across the continent.

Conference Insights

The conference, which commenced on May 12 and concludes on May 16, focuses on the theme: “Advancing Technology in the Management of Prison Systems in Africa: A Critical Objective.” It gathers Heads of Corrections and representatives from 36 African countries, along with international organizations, to discuss advancements and collaborations in correctional management.

Commissioner Dlamini highlighted that participation in this conference offers significant benefits, including:
