MANZINI– Eswatini’s Cool Drop releases heartfelt tribute song, celebrating resilience, sacrifice, and love.
Rising Eswatini artist Cool Drop has released his latest single “MAKE” featuring celebrated poet Lizwe Umlangeni, a heartfelt storytelling piece that captures the unconditional love and sacrifices of a mother. The track is now available on YouTube.
Drawing from his own life, Cool Drop revealed that “MAKE” was inspired by the struggles he faced growing up and the pivotal role his mother played in shaping his journey.
“I come from a background that wasn’t easy at all, and most of the time, it was my mother’s love and sacrifices that carried me through,” he explained. “When I wrote this song, I wanted it to be more than just music, I wanted it to be a reflection of her strength, her love, and the lessons I got from her. It’s also a message to everyone to appreciate their parents while they’re still alive, because their sacrifices shape who we become.”
The collaboration with Lizwe Umlangeni brought an added depth to the track. Known for his powerful poetry, Umlangeni infused the song with raw emotion and lyrical precision.
“I needed someone who could connect with me on the mood of the song and carry the same depth of feeling,” Cool Drop said. “Lizwe brought a soul-stirring touch that makes the song even more relatable.”
Behind the scenes, DJ Citie played a vital role in bringing the vision to life, handling the production, mixing, and mastering of the track. Cool Drop praised him for shaping the sound into exactly what he imagined.
Since its release, “MAKE” has already sparked strong emotional reactions from listeners.
“The most touching feedback has been from people who told me the song reminded them of their own parents,” Cool Drop shared. “Some said it made them emotional, some even cried, and others reached out to their parents just to say ‘thank you.’ That really moved me, because it showed the song is doing what I hoped it would, sparking gratitude and reflection.”
