MBABANE – As the school gates swung open on Monday, dozens of pupils stepped in with pride, thanks to DJ Bloss, who marked his 10-year milestone by donating school shoes to children in need.

In celebration of a decade in the entertainment scene, Bloss Media Group, the brainchild of DJ Bloss, partnered with the Helping Hand Foundation to donate school shoes to underprivileged learners.

The donation drive was deliberately scheduled to coincide with the school opening week, ensuring the young beneficiaries started the term with both pride and proper footwear.

Known for his precision behind the decks and his flair for music production, DJ Bloss has performed alongside some of the continent’s biggest names including Black Coffee, Ralf Gum and Black Motion. But over the weekend, the turntablist turned his attention to a cause that hit closer to home.

Speaking through a statement, DJ Bloss said the initiative was part of the group’s commitment to uplifting communities that have supported their journey over the past 10 years. He said giving back in a meaningful way felt like the most fitting way to celebrate the milestone.

“It was important for us at Bloss Media Group to celebrate our 10th anniversary by giving back to the community that has supported us throughout the years,” he said. “Partnering with the Helping Hand Foundation to provide these school shoes, especially with schools opening today, was a heartfelt initiative, and we are humbled to play a part in empowering the next generation.”

The Helping Hand Foundation, which facilitated the identification and distribution of the shoes to deserving recipients, described the donation as a powerful act of kindness.

Ncamiso Mahlalela, fondly known as The Pads Guy and a representative of the foundation, said the shoes would go a long way in easing the burden faced by struggling families.

“We are immensely grateful to DJ Bloss and Bloss Media Group for their incredible generosity and for their thoughtfulness in ensuring these shoes arrived right on time for the start of the school term,” Mahlalela said. “These shoes are more than just footwear; they are a symbol of hope and opportunity for these children.”

For many of the pupils who received the donations, the shoes represent more than just comfort. Educators say arriving at school with proper attire can significantly boost morale and instill confidence in learners.

As DJ Bloss eyes taking his deejaying career to an international level, those who know him say it’s acts like these that truly show the depth of his character, a mix of talent, heart and purpose.
