BUHLENI — Government has allocated more than E16 million for Phase Four of the Buhleni Roads Project, signalling continued investment in infrastructure as the growing town prepares for increased commercial and residential development.
The phase will cover approximately 1.4 kilometres of roads around the Light Industry area, where the new Buy Cash Complex is situated, with the upgrades expected to improve access and create opportunities for more businesses to establish in the area.
The allocation follows the completion of Phase Three of the roads project, which has improved mobility within Buhleni and opened access to areas that were previously difficult to reach or undeveloped.
Buhleni Town Clerk Gordon Mbuli said the road developments were expected to have a positive impact on residents by creating an environment conducive to business growth.
“It will indeed improve the livelihood of the residents as more businesses will be coming up once the roads have been completed,” said Mbuli.
The completion of Phase Three has also contributed to the changing appearance of Buhleni as the town continues to develop its urban infrastructure.
The new roads are expected to improve the movement of residents and goods while making commercial areas more accessible. The improved connectivity could also encourage developers and investors to consider areas that were previously less accessible.
With Phase Four targeting the Light Industry area, the project is expected to strengthen access to one of Buhleni’s emerging commercial zones and support further economic activity around the Buy Cash Complex.
The continued investment in road infrastructure comes as Buhleni expands and works towards accommodating future development. Better roads are expected to support businesses, improve connectivity and contribute to improved livelihoods for residents.
