BHUNYA – Red Rhinos FC are celebrating a historic achievement after being crowned the inaugural MulaSport National First Division champions and securing promotion to the MTN Premier League.

The Rhinos sealed the title with a convincing 2-0 victory over Ludzeludze Killers at Bhunya Stadium, earning themselves the championship trophy and an E200 000 prize.

Their triumph caps off a remarkable season in which they finished level on 52 points with Pigg’s Peak Professionals FC. However, Red Rhinos clinched the title thanks to a superior goal difference of +20, compared to the runners-up’s +12.

The victory sparked jubilant celebrations among players, coaches and supporters, who witnessed their team complete a journey that has now earned them a place among the country’s football elite.

Pigg’s Peak Professionals FC finished second and received E90 000 for their efforts after pushing the title race to the final stages of the season. Magwanyana FC secured third place, while Nkwene Sundowns FC finished fourth, with both teams retaining their National First Division status.

Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, thanked MulaSport for sponsoring the National First Division League and encouraged more companies to invest in local football. He also congratulated Red Rhinos on winning the title and wished them success as they prepare for life in the MTN Premier League.

For Red Rhinos, the championship is more than just silverware. It is the reward for consistency, discipline and determination shown throughout the campaign. The club remained focused under pressure and delivered when it mattered most, ultimately writing their name into the history books as the first-ever MulaSport National First Division champions.
