MBABANE – The Eswatini Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC) has officially ushered in a new chapter following the formal welcoming of its newly appointed Managing Director, Thulani Fakudze, by Board Chairperson Kwanele Magagula.
The official reception, attended by members of the corporation’s executive management team, marked Fakudze’s assumption of office after he emerged successful in a competitive recruitment process overseen by the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT).
Fakudze joins EPTC from the Eswatini Communications Commission, where he served as Technical Director. His appointment also marks a full-circle moment in his career, having begun his professional journey at EPTC as an intern 26 years ago.
According to information shared by EPTC the leadership transition marks a transformative milestone for EPTC as the incoming Managing Director prepares to steer the corporation towards its next phase of development.
“With a clear focus on driving innovation and strengthening strategic goals, this new chapter is set to enhance operational efficiency and ensure that EPTC remains at the forefront of delivering exceptional service to all stakeholders,” reads part of the message from EPTC.
His appointment comes at a time when EPTC is seeking to strengthen its market position and accelerate its digital transformation agenda. The corporation is also expected to enhance operational performance while expanding connectivity solutions for businesses and consumers across the country.
Fakudze assumes the role with a mandate from ICT Minister Savannah Maziya to steer the parastatal towards financial sustainability and improved operational performance.
The ministry has emphasised the need for EPTC to become more efficient, financially self-sustaining and customer-focused while continuing to play a key role in Eswatini’s digital development.
With the new leadership now in place, stakeholders are expected to closely monitor the implementation of reforms aimed at strengthening EPTC’s competitiveness and delivering reliable telecommunications and postal services to the nation.
