MBABANE – Eswatini Revenue Service has extended the deadline for VAT-registered businesses.
Normally, businesses registered to collect Value-Added Tax (VAT) on behalf of ERS are required to submit their tax returns by October 31, 2024. However, the deadline has been extended to December 16, 2024.
In a statement sent to this publication, ERS This extension provides VAT-registered businesses with additional time to fulfill their tax obligations and ensure accurate completion of all required submissions.
According to the statement, ERS Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule affirmed the ERS’s commitment to facilitating compliance, stating, “This extension reflects our commitment to supporting businesses in their tax compliance journey.”
Key Points to Note:
• VAT-registered businesses must submit their Income Tax returns and payments by the extended deadline of 16 December 2024.
• Businesses that have received a VAT de-registration notice are still required to submit and pay by the original deadline of 31 October 2024.
• VAT de-registered or unregistered businesses are prohibited by law from charging VAT. For further clarification or assistance, businesses are encouraged to contact their Customer Service Consultants or the ERS through the following channels:
