MBABANE — Eswatini Bank, alongside stakeholders and community members, officially opened the Khoza Complex in KaKhoza, investing E2.3 million into the project to boost local economic activity, improve access to services, and create business opportunities for the surrounding community.
Speaking during the event, Eswatini Bank Executive Manager for Risk and Data Analytics, Mbongeni Bhembe, said the occasion marked a significant milestone for the community and the country.
“It is both a privilege and a pleasure for us as Eswatini Bank to join you today for the official opening of the Khoza Complex,” he said. “Today marks more than the unveiling of a building. It marks the unlocking of opportunity, enterprise and progress for the people of KaKhoza and surrounding communities.”
The Bank financed the project with E2.3 million, demonstrating its continued commitment to supporting impactful developments that uplift emaSwati. The complex is expected to create opportunities for local entrepreneurs, generate employment and bring essential services closer to the people.
Bhembe highlighted that 2026 marks a significant milestone as the Bank celebrates 60 years of service, coinciding with the country’s commemoration of His Majesty King Mswati III’s 40 years on the throne. He stated that over the years, the Bank has remained aligned with national development priorities by supporting enterprise and expanding financial inclusion.
In the past four years alone, Eswatini Bank has invested more than E1.6 billion across key sectors, including infrastructure, small businesses, agribusiness, healthcare and housing. These investments aim to build a resilient, inclusive and sustainable economy while improving the quality of life for emaSwati.
The Bank also emphasised the importance of partnerships in delivering meaningful development, acknowledging the role of Linac Group and other stakeholders in bringing the Khoza Complex to life. Such collaboration continues to play a critical role in ensuring long-term impact within communities.
The Khoza Complex is expected to drive local commerce, support emerging entrepreneurs and strengthen the economic fabric of KaKhoza, positioning the area for sustained growth and development.
