MBABANE– Eswatini Bank has invested over E200 million in Corporate Social Investment (CSI) in the past six decades since it’s establishment.
The bank confirmed this financial support amount through its official social media platforms as they celebrate 60 years of existence in the kingdom.
“For 60 years, our commitment has gone beyond banking. With over E200 million invested in Corporate Social Investment initiatives, we continue to support the people, communities, and opportunities that help Eswatini thrive,” reads the statement.
It further states that rooted in Eswatini, driven by impact, homegrown, purpose-driven and impact-focused, for six decades, Eswatini Bank has played a role in shaping growth, empowering communities and supporting national development across the Kingdom.
“As we celebrate 60 years of meaningful impact, we honour the people, partnerships and communities that have been part of this remarkable journey,” states the bank.
Eswatini Bank actively drives socio-economic development through strategic Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programs focused on youth empowerment, sports, and community welfare. Key initiatives include sponsoring the national Schools Music Competition, poverty alleviation projects, health/wellness support, and youth entrepreneurship initiatives.
Core focus areas of their community outreach include: Arts and Culture, where they are Sponsoring the Eswatini Bank Schools Music Competition, which plays a vital role in the youth’s cultural development and extracurricular education.
In Sports Development, the bank’s CSI has been over the years headlined through the hosting and funding of the now defunct annual Eswatini Bank Cup knockout football tournament, supporting local athletic talent.
For Youth and Entrepreneurship, they have been backing initiatives that drive job creation, financial literacy, and youth-led enterprise development.
Other CSI programmes of Eswatini Bank include Community and Welfare, where they support direct interventions in poverty alleviation, rural development, and support for vulnerable groups.
