MANZINI – The grills are ready to sizzle, the smoke is set to rise, and the nation is officially on notice: the milestone 10th Edition of the Eswatini Biggest Braai is set for July 25, 2026.
This landmark celebration, which has grown from a local gathering into a massive national phenomenon, will once again transform the Mavuso Trade Centre into a vibrant hub of unity, flavor, and compassion.
Under the prestigious patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Indlovukazi, the event continues to champion the theme “In Aid of the Needy Elderly and Vulnerable Children.” As the project hits double digits, the focus remains firmly on the Philani Maswati Charity Trust, ensuring that every flame lit and every meal shared contributes directly to restoring the dignity of the kingdom’s most marginalized citizens.
The journey to this tenth anniversary follows the record-breaking success of the previous edition, which turned the Mavuso Trade Centre into a sea of corporate colors and community spirit. One of the most defining characteristics of the 9th edition was the commitment to the theme of equality in entertainment. In a bold departure from traditional festivals, it was strictly noted that no artist was a headliner.
This “no-hierarchy” approach allowed for a seamless flow of talent, where the legendary DJ Tira and the soulful Naledi Aphiwe shared the stage on equal footing with local heavyweights like AyaCity, The Scientists, The Prefect, Young Zesh, Zulu D, and DJ MBO. By removing the headliner status, the focus remained on the collective effort of the artists to draw support for the elderly, rather than on individual stardom.
Where Business Meets the Braai Stand
Beyond the music, the Eswatini Biggest Braai has evolved into a powerhouse for local commerce. The previous edition saw the venue buzzing with companies setting up massive stalls and marquees as early as 9:00 AM. It served as a premier business showcase, with major sponsors like Robertson Spices, Embiveni Meats, and Eswatini Mobile leading a charge of hundreds of vendors. The event has become a critical networking hub where corporate teams, some bringing over 50 staff members dressed in colorful company regalia, compete for the best grill while showcasing their products to a crowd of over 10 000 people.
The 9th edition also introduced a dazzling Braai Fashion Show, proving that the event is a collision of trend and tradition. Local designers and models took to the runway to display Eswatini’s bold style, turning the festival into a “spectacular of threads.” This was perfectly balanced by the high-octane energy of the Spin Arena, where the smell of burning rubber met the aroma of grilled meat. The spinning showcase, featuring precision driving from the likes of Team Swazi and the Masina Brothers, has cemented its place as the adrenaline-fueled heartbeat of the celebration.
As the kingdom prepares for July 2026, the 10th edition promises to be the most significant fundraising and business effort yet. It serves as a testament to ten years of dedication to providing housing, food security, and medical assistance to the vulnerable. With the date now officially set, the countdown begins for a day where Eswatini unites to grill for a cause.
