…as part of the company’s CSI tradition before each roadshow

NHLANGANO- In a display of corporate compassion and national pride, Eswatini Mobile is proving that meaningful impact goes beyond network coverage. This past Saturday, the homegrown telecommunications giant brought warmth and hope to the community of Skom in Nhlangano, delivering a generous donation of clothes and food items as part of its ongoing commitment to uplift emaSwati where it matters most, on the ground.
The initiative, which took place ahead of the company’s vibrant Siyabangena roadshow at the Zam-Zam complex, marked the beginning of a new Corporate Social Investment (CSI) tradition where each roadshow will now be preceded by a community upliftment activity.

The donations were made possible through the generous contributions of Eswatini Mobile staff, who enthusiastically participated in an internal drive to collect clothes, food items, and other necessities. Their involvement not only exemplifies the spirit of unity within the company but also highlights a culture of compassion and active citizenship that Eswatini Mobile seeks to inspire in all emaSwati.
The donation forms part of Eswatini Mobile’s broader Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme and directly responds to His Majesty King Mswati III’s call to eradicate poverty and improve the quality of life for all emaSwati. The King has consistently urged the private sector to play an active role in empowering communities and addressing the socio-economic challenges facing the country. Eswatini Mobile, a proudly Swati brand, is rising to this call with deliberate and impactful action.
“Our CSI efforts are not an afterthought; they are central to who we are. We believe being Africa’s Leading Integrated Business Partner means extending our presence beyond telecommunications and being fully integrated in the lives of the people we serve,” said Eswatini Mobile Head of Commercial, Nosipho Xaba, during the donation.

Residents of Skom welcomed the donations with overwhelming gratitude, expressing how the gesture came at a time of great need.
“I am truly grateful for this kindness. We sometimes feel forgotten here in Skom, but today, Eswatini Mobile made us feel seen and valued. Not every day do you see a company showing this level of care. These clothes and food will go a long way for us as a community, considering it’s the winter season, with many in need of warm clothing. Also, because of Eswatini Mobile, many will not go to bed on an empty stomach today (Saturday),” said Nomsa Magagula, who was speaking on behalf of the residents.
Tenele Matsebula, a young mother in the area, also extended her appreciation, adding, “This has lifted a weight off our shoulders. We hope more companies will follow this example, as we are one of the most neglected communities.”

According to Xaba, the CSI activities are expected to vary with each roadshow as Eswatini Mobile continues to assess community needs across different regions of the country. The company has reaffirmed its commitment to being more than a service provider, choosing instead to be a responsive, relevant, and responsible corporate citizen.
From rural homes to urban centres, Eswatini Mobile is proving that business success can, and must, go hand in hand with social impact. The next roadshow and CSI activity are already on the horizon as the company continues to champion local development, one community at a time.
