FAITH, FUN, AND FRIENDSHIP SHINE AT MSHWALA ZONAL CHILDREN’S DAY

MBABANE- Laughter, prayers, and the joyful sound of song filled Mater Dolorosa Parish on Saturday, August 9,2025 as over 350 young hearts from across Ka Mshwala Zone gathered to celebrate faith and friendship at the 2025 Zonal Children’s Day.

The participating parishes were Regina Mundi Parish (PPK), St. Mary’s Parish (Lobamba), St. John Bosco Parish, and the host, Mater Dolorosa Parish. The day began with a joyful Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Peterson Mwangi IMC ,affectionately known as Fr. P.M.C.  who encouraged the children to pray for others and to promise God to always live in goodness.

A lively programme followed, featuring a teaching session on the Pontifical Missionary Childhood (PMC) led by Diocesan Coordinator Bhekiwe Dlamini. Sr. Priscilla Boithabiso Molelengoane of the MSMHC – Africa Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians coordinated the activities, ensuring a smooth and impactful day for the young participants.

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as children enjoyed games, including jumping castles, and took part in the much-anticipated PMC Anthem Competition, judged by Babe Myeni and Babe Chonco. St. John Bosco Parish took first prize, sparking jubilant applause and celebration.

The event also highlighted the contribution of Make Tsabedze from St. Mary’s, who is playing a vital role in developing PMC Formation Material by helping translate it into Siswati.

A key announcement during the celebrations confirmed that the PMC Diocesan Day will take place on October 18, 2025. All zones were encouraged to prepare for a memorable and prayerful gathering with Bishop José Luis of the Catholic Diocese of Manzini.

The day reflected the true spirit of the PMC motto “Children Helping Children” leaving smiles, joy, and a renewed sense of mission among the young faithful.
