For many women and young girls dreaming of financial independence, a pair of nail brushes, braiding hands or a makeup kit could become the first step toward changing their lives.
A new fully sponsored beauty skills programme launched by Buhle Bakho Tandla Tetfu Empowerment in partnership with the Mbabane West Constituency is opening doors for women eager to learn practical skills that can help them earn an income and build businesses of their own.
More than just beauty training, the initiative is designed to restore confidence, create opportunities and empower participants with skills they can use from home, making it possible to generate income without the expense of renting office space.
The programme will offer training in nail technology, hairdressing, makeup artistry and braiding—skills that continue to create employment and entrepreneurship opportunities across Eswatini’s growing beauty industry.
For Buhle Bakho Tandla Tetfu Empowerment Founder Nombuso Dlamini, the initiative represents more than teaching a trade; it is about giving women the tools to rewrite their own stories.
“As Buhle Bakho we are very excited for this opportunity,” said Dlamini.
“We know that employment is low right now. This is a chance to help put something in people’s pockets and to give them skills they can use to support themselves and their families.”
She said empowering women with practical skills creates a ripple effect that extends beyond individual households, strengthening families and communities as more women become financially self-reliant.
The programme begins with a free community briefing where interested women and young people will receive information about the training and registration process.
