BHUNYA – Fisokuhle “Fiso Ntwana” Mndzebele’s story is one of resilience, courage, and transformation. From battling false accusations and mental health struggles to rising as a motivational speaker, actor, and advocate, his life proves that determination can turn pain into purpose.

Born and raised in KaZondwako, Bhunya, under the care of his grandmother, Fiso’s childhood was marked by hardship. He attended Mphakamela Primary School and later Bhunya Central High School before moving to The Woodlands High School in Mbabane.

At just 13 years old, his life was shaken by a false rape accusation. Although proven innocent, the stigma left deep scars, isolating him from his peers. This led to behavioral challenges that saw him suspended from two schools.

“I was a troubled boy trying to make sense of a world that seemed against me,” Fiso recalls. “My energy came out as chaos because I didn’t know how else to deal with the pain.”

Fiso’s turning point came when he enrolled at KaSchiele High School, where he not only improved academically but also thrived as a leader, eventually serving as Prefects Prefect. This experience taught him discipline, responsibility, and the importance of channeling his energy positively.

After completing high school, Fiso spent two years hustling at home before enrolling at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology to study Journalism and Media. However, during this period, he was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, forcing him to step away from his studies temporarily.

Mental health became a defining part of Fiso’s journey. He admits there were moments when he felt like the world was “crumbling” around him. But with medical help, therapy, and a strong support system, he stabilized and continued pursuing his goals.

He now uses his experience to empower others, leading the movement Unite Against Depression, which raises awareness about mental health and encourages young people to speak up.

“Regret none of what you have done but all that you couldn’t be brave enough to do,” he emphasizes, “because that could have been your breakthrough.”

At Limkokwing, he also served as Director of Social Welfare in the Student Representative Council, further proving his dedication to uplifting others.

Today, he is not only a motivational speaker and mental health advocate but also an actor and event MC, inspiring audiences with his energy and testimony.

Fiso’s journey is a reminder that struggles do not define a person but instead refine them. His story continues to inspire many in Eswatini and beyond.

As he puts it: “My scars are not signs of weakness but proof that I survived. And if I could rise, so can anyone else.”
