MOTSHANE — From a quiet corner at Ekupheleni to centre stage at top fashion shows, Khulekani Nkambule is proving that style, ambition, and heart can take you anywhere.
Balancing a professional career in Environmental Health & Food Sciences with a growing presence in the fashion world, Nkambule is fast becoming one of Eswatini’s most promising male models.
His love for modelling began during high school pageants, inspired by his older sister, Chazile Dlamini, Miss Swaziland’s 1st Princess (2007/2008). That spark turned into a pursuit when he signed with The Rhythm Modelling Agency, landing his first campaign — a food outlet shoot that marked the start of his professional journey.
“It was beautiful and unforgettable,” Khulekani recalls.
Since then, he’s appeared in campaigns for Portia M, MTN Eswatini, and MTN Bushfire Fashion Show, consistently turning heads with his sharp style and runway confidence. But his most meaningful moment is walking the runway for his agency’s first fashion show, with his proud mother beaming in the crowd.
“Seeing her smile with joy was priceless. That moment stays with me,” he shares.
Though he occasionally faces challenges due to the industry’s rigid height expectations, Khulekani pushes through with determination. His secret is simple- A disciplined routine of exercise, clean eating, hydration, and a charcoal skincare regimen.
He also believes preparation is non-negotiable. From pre-planning outfits and hairstyles to rehearsing runway walks inspired by international shows, he treats every appearance with professionalism.
“You need to plan, rehearse, and keep your concepts fresh,” he advises.
For those hoping to follow in his footsteps, Khulekani shares five golden rules: Never undermine yourself. Chase your dreams — ignore the naysayers.

Believe in your uniqueness and stay confident.
“Understand your body and dress to flatter it,” he adds. “Pinterest is great for fresh outfit inspiration.”
His vision extends beyond fashion. He’s already managing up-and-coming artist Kalulu, and is eager to dive deeper into the entertainment industry. His goals? Brand partnerships, billboard campaigns, and international runway appearances — all while staying true to his roots.
“As long as I breathe, I can keep creating and growing,” he says. “I want to motivate others — especially young models — to believe in their dreams.”
