BUSELENI – The Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Nkwene, expressed deep appreciation to Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla for her continued support to the Nkwene constituency during a community development event held at Buseleni.
Speaking at the official handover of agricultural equipment to Zamani Mkhwenyana Investment, Minister Dlamini commended the DPM for what he described as a strong and consistent presence in the Inkhundla’s development journey.
“We are truly grateful for the DPM’s unwavering commitment to the people of Nkwene,” he said. “This is not the first time she has responded swiftly to our needs. During the floods earlier this year, when the Mkhondvo bridge was severely damaged, it was the DPM’s office that stepped in to assist. Through her intervention, a helicopter was deployed to help evacuate and support the people of Buseleni in their time of need.”
The Minister emphasised the importance of leadership that goes beyond office walls, noting that real impact happens when national leaders remain visible and responsive to citizens. “When government officials are seen and felt in our communities, that is when people truly feel the presence of the state,” he said. “We must take government out of the office and bring it to the people. That is how development is made real.”
Minister acknowledged the presence of former Members of Parliament for the area, Aaron Dladla and Vulimpompi Nhleko, noting that their inclusion was intentional. He said it was meant to demonstrate unity and highlight the spirit of togetherness that defines the Tinkhundla system.
“Were it not for the Tinkhundla system, we would probably see former leaders forming opposing camps,” he remarked. “But today, we stand together not as rivals, but as one. That is the beauty of our governance system. It is inclusive, peaceful and focused on community progress.”
Minister Dlamini’s remarks highlighted the importance of continuity, collaboration and visibility in governance, reinforcing the values of the Tinkhundla system and the spirit of service at the heart of Eswatini’s development agenda.
