MATSAPHA – The engines are revving, the countdown is on, and anticipation is sky-high as the 32nd edition of the Swazi Rally returns from August 29 to 31, 2025. This legendary motorbike and lifestyle event is more than a thrill ride — it’s a cultural celebration and a major boost to Eswatini’s entertainment and tourism scene.
The official launch took place at Xtreme Trading in Matsapha today (13 June 2025), led by Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Jane Mkhonta-Simelane, who praised the rally’s long-standing impact on the country’s economy and social landscape.
“This rally has been a cornerstone of Eswatini’s tourism calendar for over three decades. Last year alone, the event brought in over E60 million in revenue,” she said. “We commend the dedication of the organisers and supporters who have grown this event from a local biker meet-up into an internationally recognised festival.”
This year’s highlight is one lucky participant will ride away on a Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GX worth a whopping E270 000. Last year’s winner took home a Yamaha Suzuki bike valued at E265 000, courtesy of longtime sponsors Carlos and Sonia Paiva of Xtreme Trading — true champions of Eswatini’s entertainment scene.
Regan Mourdant, President of the Kings Brigade Motorcycle Club, echoed the rally’s evolution:“What began as a weekend for biking enthusiasts has exploded into a regional phenomenon — attracting fans and riders from across Southern Africa.”
The rally, once hosted at Somhlolo Stadium, has transformed into a full-fledged festival featuring live music, food vendors, bike showcases, merchandise stalls, and adrenaline-packed road shows. It’s not just about motorcycles — it’s about community, energy, and identity.
Mduduzi Mkhabela from Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF) took the opportunity to remind participants about road safety, urging responsible biking during and beyond the event.
With more entertainment, bigger prizes, and an ever-growing legacy, the Swazi Rally 2025 promises to be the loudest, boldest, and most unforgettable edition yet.
