EZULWINI – Popular comedy duo and social media personalities Gogo Eswatini and S’Lwane are taking their influence beyond entertainment as they prepare to host Mfowethu, U-Grend?, a men’s wellness camp aimed at tackling some of the biggest challenges facing men in Eswatini.

The one-day event, organised through the Gogo Eswatini & S’Lwane Care Foundation, will take place at Happy Valley Hotel on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 9am to 4pm. The initiative is designed to create a safe space where men can openly discuss mental health, relationships, finances, faith, parenting and personal development while accessing guidance from experts across various fields.

With an entry fee of E250, the camp brings together psychologists, financial experts, legal professionals, entrepreneurs, pastors, motivational speakers and community leaders, all committed to encouraging healing, accountability and growth among men.

According to S’Lwane, the idea behind the initiative was inspired by the growing social crisis affecting men across the country.

“We looked within ourselves, searched within our own families and communities. We read newspapers, saw it on TV and heard about it on radio. Worse, even our social media timelines are littered with it,” he said.

He said the increasing number of suicides, gender-based violence and emotional struggles among men could no longer be ignored.

“From attempted suicides to completed ones, to sexual and gender-based violence, the red flags are all over us, unmistakable. The crisis that is men’s mental ill-health is one we felt we can no longer ignore.”

S’Lwane stressed that the initiative is not about pointing fingers but rather about creating practical solutions where men can support one another and find healing.

For Gogo Eswatini, the wellness camp is an opportunity for public figures to use their platforms for meaningful change.

“At some point, one feels like their influence is pointless if it is not fully leveraged to help better the lives of the people who make us what we are as influencers or public figures,” he said.

He added that the country continues to lose lives through suicide while incidents of gender-based violence remain a worrying reality.

“Every other weekend we are either burying a friend or a relative due to suicide or we are reading in the papers that Man X has butchered Woman X, which to us will always be troubling.”

The organisers believe that honest conversations, professional guidance and shared experiences can help men prioritise their wellbeing while strengthening families and communities.

The camp will feature a diverse lineup of respected speakers and facilitators, including media personalities Mnqobi Tsabedze and Khonzumthetho Kunene, who will serve as moderators.

Mental health discussions will be led by advocate Enhle Mazibuko and psychologist Dr Wandile Tsabedze, while financial wellness sessions will be facilitated by insurance specialist Mthokozisi Ntshingila and financial literacy coach Terence Mtera Thwala.

Faith-based conversations will be delivered by Pastor Richard Dlamini and Pastor Clement Dlamini, alongside contributions from entrepreneur Tiyamike “Tiyas” Maziya, motivational speaker Phila “Ph.D” Dlamini, businessman Xolani Mashabane, senior attorney Simo Simelane, and transformation catalyst and spoken word artist KrTC.

Together, the speakers will explore topics including mental health, financial wellness, parenting, relationships, spirituality, addiction, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, grief and personal development.

As conversations around men’s mental health continue to gain momentum in Eswatini, Mfowethu, U-Grend? hopes to become more than just a one-day event, but a movement encouraging men to speak up, seek help and build healthier futures together.
