MBABANE – is set for a night of laughter as “Our Typa One Man Show” returns with a powerful message of unity, gratitude, and pure comedy.
The much-anticipated show, led by Gogo na S’lwane, is more than just entertainment. It is a heartfelt celebration of community and connection. Speaking about the inspiration behind the concept, the duo shared that the show reflects their journey with their audience.
“The concept is essentially a celebration of our community and the continued spirit of collaboration between Gogo naS’lwane,” they said. “Our continued relevance and resonance within the community is not something we take lightly.”
They explained that the show is their way of giving back to the people who have supported them over the years. “It is an effort to bring together the people who have allowed us into their lives… and collectively relay our gratitude to them, the only way we know how: straight-up, rib-cracking, original comedy.”
Beyond laughter, the duo hopes the show will leave a lasting legacy. “We hope it leaves an imprint in our legacies… not just in the comedy or arts space, but in the lives of every liSwati,” they said. They also aim to inspire a new generation of local comedians and creatives.
Preparation for the show is no small task. According to them, planning begins immediately after each annual performance. “We always start preparations for the next one immediately we wrap up every year’s instalment… a year in advance, always,” they revealed.
For those attending, the promise is clear: unforgettable moments. “We want people to take home great memories, injured ribs, new friends, and an awareness of just how much we love and appreciate each and every one of them.”
As for surprises, the duo kept it mysterious. “It wouldn’t be a surprise if we revealed it now… but yes, let the people come ready for a boiling good time. We have a few aces up our sleeves.”
