MANZINI– The engines are roaring and the tires are ready to smoke as the 2nd Annual Hakuna Matata Spin Fest prepares to set a new standard for extreme entertainment in Eswatini.
Scheduled for March 28, 2026, at the Mavuso Trade Centre, this year’s festival promises to be louder, crazier, and more intentional than ever before.
The event organisers have spent months refining the experience, focusing on better organisation and stronger crowd engagement. Organiser Nqaba Ginindza highlighted that the festival is setting a new tone for the industry. “Hakuna Matata is setting the tone for what’s to come, and this year we’re promising attendees an experience that goes beyond expectations,” Ginindza shared. He emphasized that the festival has evolved from a simple spinning show into a full-scale cultural moment. “It’s not just about spinning anymore, it’s about creating a moment, an atmosphere, and a memory that people will carry for a lifetime,” he added.
The team has taken significant time to improve the flow of the day to ensure every supporter feels fully involved. “We’ve taken time to refine how the event is hosted and how people will experience it, from better organisation and crowd engagement to a stronger flow in general,” Ginindza explained. This year, the organizers are more hands-on and focused on accommodating a crowd that is expected to increase drastically following last year’s high turnout.
Following the high-octane action on the track, the festival will transition into an after-party featuring a lineup made up entirely of local artists. The organisers are committed to providing a platform for home-grown talent to shine. On the track itself, the competition is expected to be fierce with “insane” talent ready to shake the ground.
This year’s scale is supported by a strong group of sponsors, including AutoZone, Goldwagen, MulaSport, and Galito’s, who have helped the team raise the standard even higher. Reflecting on the deeper meaning of the festival, Ginindza described “HKM” as a symbol of freedom from the pressures of everyday life.
“HKM is about freedom. For one day, all the stress, noise and pressure of everyday life fades away and you live in the moment,” Ginindza stated. He concluded with a sentiment shared by many enthusiasts: “Nothing feels better than going home after an amazing time with your loved ones, a wallet destroyed and a heart restored”.
