MBABANE – The His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) has once again made the Kingdom of Eswatini proud, returning home with 2 gold and 2 bronze medals from the 2025 SADC Corrections, Prisons and Penitentiary Services Sports and Cultural Games in Namibia.
The tournament saw HMCS athletes deliver exceptional performances across multiple sporting codes, embodying discipline, unity, and a winning spirit. The volleyball team reigned supreme, claiming the championship trophy and gold medals after an unbeaten run. Their triumph was further crowned when star player Nduku Masangane was honoured as Player of the Tournament.
In the tug-of-war event, HMCS showcased pure strength and teamwork, hauling their way to yet another gold medal victory and lifting the championship trophy. Flag Nxumalo shone brightly in the darts singles category, securing a gold medal with a display of precision and composure. The darts team also left their mark, earning bronze medals after clinching third place.
Athletics brought further glory as Thandaza Zwane powered her way to a bronze medal in the women’s 200m sprint. The 4 x 100m relay team – made up of Zwane, Bonginkhosi Dlamini, Sikhanyiso Mkhwanazi, and Sibusiso Lukhele delivered an electrifying performance, winning bronze and adding four more medals to Eswatini’s tally.
On the soccer pitch, the HMCS side put up a spirited battle, ultimately securing fourth place. The netball team matched that determination, also finishing fourth in their category. This year’s campaign was a shining example of HMCS’ resilience, teamwork, and sporting excellence. Their achievements not only brought home medals and trophies but also strengthened Eswatini’s presence and prestige on the SADC sporting stage.
With such performances, HMCS has firmly cemented its reputation as a powerhouse in regional corrections sports and a source of pride for the entire nation.
