MATSAPHA – His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) has invited the nation to join the commemoration of the 18th Correctional Services Day, set for Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Correctional Staff College in Matsapha.
The event, which will be held under the theme, “Advancing Rehabilitation and Institutional Excellence Under His Majesty’s Leadership,” is expected to showcase the institution’s achievements in rehabilitation, security and community service while giving the public an opportunity to learn more about the work of correctional services.
HMCS said the annual celebration is one of the institution’s key public events and serves as a platform to strengthen engagement with the public while highlighting the progress made in transforming offenders and promoting safer communities.
Members of the public attending the event will witness a variety of activities, including ceremonial parades, exhibitions, cultural performances and presentations on rehabilitation programmes that have positively impacted the lives of offenders.
One of the major highlights of the day will be precision drill displays by correctional officers. The performances are expected to showcase the discipline, professionalism, teamwork and commitment that define His Majesty’s Correctional Services.
The celebration will also provide an opportunity for the institution to share some of its success stories in rehabilitation and reintegration, demonstrating how correctional services continue to contribute to national development beyond their traditional security role.
Over the years, HMCS has increasingly focused on rehabilitation initiatives aimed at equipping offenders with practical skills and values that can help them successfully reintegrate into society upon completion of their sentences.
Correctional Services Day is commemorated annually to recognise the dedication and contribution of correctional officers and staff members across the country. It also serves to raise public awareness about the important role correctional services play in rehabilitation, public safety and crime prevention.
HMCS has encouraged emaSwati from all walks of life to attend the celebration and experience first-hand the institution’s commitment to rehabilitation, excellence and service to the nation.
