HONEST MHLANGA LEAVES FOR INDIA CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

MBABANE – Fine artist Honest Mhlanga leaves for India on 18th of May to represent Eswatini in a cultural exchange programme in India New Delhi  aimed at promoting creativity, culture and international artistic relations.

Mhlanga is expected to spend time in New Delhi, India, where he will showcase his artistic talent while also learning from other creatives from different countries. During his stay, he is expected to produce two fine art pieces that will later be displayed at the High Commission of India in Eswatini, a move seen as a major achievement for both the artist and the country’s growing creative industry.

The talented artist was officially briefed and sent off during a meeting held at the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs boardroom. The farewell gathering brought together ministry officials who wished him success as he prepares to fly the national flag high on the international stage.

As part of the send-off, Mhlanga was presented with the Eswatini national flag as a symbol of pride and responsibility while representing the Kingdom abroad. Officials encouraged him to showcase the country’s artistic excellence and cultural identity through his work and interactions with other participating nations.

Speaking during the farewell, Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Hon. Bongani Nzima urged the artist to represent Eswatini with dignity, humility and respect. The minister reminded Mhlanga that the Kingdom is widely recognised for its respectful people and strong cultural values.

Nzima said the opportunity was not only important for Mhlanga’s personal growth as an artist, but also for promoting Eswatini’s creative sector on a global platform. He added that the country continues to produce talented individuals capable of competing and excelling internationally.

Mhlanga also expressed gratitude to the Ministry and the High Commission of India for giving him the opportunity to represent the country. He described the experience as a dream come true and promised to make the nation proud through his art and conduct while abroad.
