MBABANE -Empowering the youth!
Limkokwing University of Creative Technology on Friday (9 May 2025) buzzed with energy as it hosted the MTN Eswatini and UN Eswatini Youth Live Recording Dialogue.
This event, themed “Sustainability of Arts & Culture Festival and Digital Connectivity,” aimed to empower young voices and inspire positive social change within the community.
The dialogue featured a diverse panel of experts who shared valuable insights:
– Lwandle Simelane: Secretary-General of the Eswatini National Commission for UNESCO
– Mmeli Hlaze: Executive Director of ESWACOS
– Nomathemba Xaba: Executive at New Life Entertainment
– Ndumiso Dlamini: Music Producer and Keyboardist
– Zwelakhe Dlamini: SHE Officer at MTN Bushfire
One major focus of the dialogue was sustainability in the arts and culture sector. Participants discussed the need for integrating sustainable practices in cultural initiatives to ensure longevity while protecting the environment. This highlighted the necessity of balancing cultural expression with ecological responsibility.
A significant portion of the event was dedicated to youth engagement, providing a platform for young people to voice their ideas and concerns about cultural preservation and innovation. Zwelakhe Dlamini emphasized that the issues raised by the youth would be addressed in next year’s MTN Bushfire Festival, reinforcing the commitment to incorporating youth perspectives in future initiatives.
