MBABANE – Eswatini meets Nigeria in a soulful new collaboration that’s turning heads across Africa and beyond.
Rising Eswatini star Lady Sphesh has joined forces with Rhyma, the Nigerian-born, South Africa-based Afrobeat artist, for a powerful new single titled I’m Callin’ — and the result is pure musical magic.
Released in March 2025, I’m Callin’ is a rich fusion of Afrobeat and soul, wrapped in smooth melodies and heartfelt lyrics. The official music video will be released soon. The track also features South African vocalist LisaRsa, adding an extra layer of warmth and vocal depth to the emotionally charged single.
“Working with Rhyma was such an exciting and refreshing experience,” says Lady Sphesh born Siphesihle Shongwe. “From the moment I heard the concept for I’m Callin’, I knew it was going to be something special.”
Rhyma, born Charlie Inyang, brings a dynamic Afro Pop and commercial House influence to the song, creating a seamless sonic blend with Lady Sphesh’s signature emotive sound.
“Rhyma has this unique Afrobeat energy that complements my style perfectly,” she adds. “The chemistry was instant. We share a passion for making music that connects with people on an emotional level.”
The music video — shot in Johannesburg, South Africa — captures the essence of the track with a blend of modern cityscapes and soft, romantic scenes. Directed by Slowman Films, the visuals are as polished and moving as the song itself.
“We wanted to visually represent that feeling of longing — of calling out to the one you love,” says Lady Sphesh. “The vibe on set was magical, and the team nailed the aesthetic.”
With I’m Callin’, Lady Sphesh continues to break musical boundaries, building bridges between countries and cultures. The song has already started to pick up traction on streaming platforms, with fans praising its authenticity and cross-cultural collaboration.
“This project is a celebration of love, unity, and African creativity,” Lady Sphesh says. “And honestly, it’s just the beginning.”
Additionally, her New Year’s release Ngiyahamba, which debuted on EBIS 2, is also making waves, with its visuals currently sitting at 1.6 million views on YouTube. The emotional Amapiano track blends rhythm, storytelling, and heartfelt lyrics, with fans calling it a game-changer in her discography.
With her growing catalogue of hits and a steadily expanding fanbase, Lady Sphesh is clearly one of Eswatini’s brightest musical exports — and she’s just getting started.
