SITEKI– In a move aimed at strengthening the creative industry and expanding opportunities for emerging artists in the Lubombo region, the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) has backed the upcoming Lubombo Fest, officially launched in Siteki on 23 June 2026 ahead of its staging at Polar Rest and Bar on 25 July 2026.
The festival is increasingly positioning itself as a strategic cultural platform that goes beyond entertainment, focusing on talent development, cultural promotion and the stimulation of local economic activity. Organisers say Lubombo Fest has become a growing launchpad for emerging artists in Siteki and surrounding communities, with this year’s edition expected to deepen its impact on both the creative and business sectors.
Lubombo Festival Director Nhlanhla Matsebula said the initiative continues to play a key role in identifying and nurturing local talent, highlighting its contribution to the rise of artists such as Bandora and As 4 Jerry P.

He said the festival will continue working closely with ENCAC to expand opportunities for emerging performers, with a stronger showcase planned as it builds towards future editions.
“I am grateful to the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture for their backing of this festival. Several artists from Siteki, including Bandora and As 4 Jerry P, have been brought up through this event. We must work together to uncover more talent alongside ENCAC. I promise that this year’s festival will be an exciting build-up for next year’s edition,” said Matsebula.
Speaking at the launch, ENCAC Chief Executive Officer Stanley Dlamini commended the vision behind the festival, saying it reflects the kind of creative initiative the council seeks to support in advancing Eswatini’s arts and cultural landscape.
Dlamini said while funding constraints remain a challenge, ENCAC continues to support platforms driven by vision and commitment, as they play a critical role in community development and youth empowerment.
“Our role at ENCAC is to support such dreams. Our main challenge is that while we cannot always provide funding, we do support those with vision. Once people stop dreaming, our council becomes inactive. So I urge everyone to continue dreaming big,” he said.
He further encouraged Polar Rest and Bar to explore long-term investment opportunities such as accommodation facilities and improved security infrastructure.
Dlamini also suggested that simple accommodation options, including tents, could enhance the festival experience.
As anticipation builds, Lubombo Fest is expected to bring together artists, music lovers and entrepreneurs in a celebration that highlights local creativity and economic opportunity.
