MBABANE – A powerful message of pride and purpose echoed through the halls of the Business Eswatini War Room in Emafini as E. Nathi Dlamini, CEO of Business Eswatini, officially launched the Made in Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards 2025.
With dignitaries, business leaders, and creatives gathered for the event, Dlamini took the opportunity to encourage Emaswati to support homegrown products, not just as consumers, but as proud citizens building the nation’s economic future.
“This is more than recognition,” Dlamini declared. “We are endorsing the dreams, ambitions, and hard work of local entrepreneurs.”
The awards will shine a spotlight on the nation’s finest brands, honouring both public favourites and strategic excellence. Public voting categories will celebrate excellence in food, fashion, wellness, home products, and more, including the prestigious Product of the Year title. A jury will also assess entries based on innovation, sustainability, design, and leadership by women and youth.
Dlamini emphasized the importance of this dual approach, which blends popular appeal with impactful business values. He commended the event organisers, A Peculiar People, for creating a platform that speaks directly to the mission of Business Eswatini: empowering local enterprise.
“This initiative opens new doors for our entrepreneurs. It’s about making Eswatini’s products competitive at home, and abroad,” Dlamini said.
The event attracted notable attendees, including Her Royal Highness Princess Sakhizwe, A Peculiar People Chairman Melusi Zox Dlamini, Mbabane City Council CEO Gciniwe Fakudze, MTN MoMo’s Jordy Shiba, and Silverstone Lodge Director Karen Nhlengetfwa, the 2024 Symbol of Excellence winner.
Closing his remarks, Dlamini urged all sectors, government, business, and civil society, to unite behind the Made in Eswatini movement.
“Together, we can elevate our local brands and proudly place Eswatini on the global map,” he said.
