MATAMZA & FRIENDS SHOW POSTPONED TO SUNDAY

NGCULWINI – Due to the expected thunderstorm and rain today the show has been shifted to Sunday (22 December 2024) at Ehawini.

The show was initially supposed to take place today (20 December 2024) but has now be postponed to Sunday (22 December 2024). Gates will open at 6pm. This was confirmed by DJ Matamza, born Thamie Zwane.

Dubbed the ‘Matamza & Friends,’ the show will feature South African music producer and DJ Khakha Yena, commonly known as Gaba Cannal. His music production is known for his soulful house take on Amapiano. The ‘Healer Nhliziyo Yam,’ ‘eDuze,’ and ‘Indaba zabantu’  hit maker will be at eHawini Lifestyle.

The Matamza & Friends event will also feature an impressive line-up of artists, including Matamza, Young Zesh, DJ Cup, Bandora, Maradona, and Mzoro.

The event promises an unforgettable night filled with electrifying performances from some of the country’s top musical talents. Gaba Cannal, born Khaka Yena, has carved a niche for himself in the industry with his unique blend of soulful house and Amapiano sounds.

Gaba Cannal’s rise to fame began with the release of his EP ‘Abundance’ in 2014, a project that opened doors for him in the competitive music industry. In the years that followed, he established his independent record label, Gaba Cannal Music Pty-Ltd, allowing him to maintain creative control over his work and support other emerging artists.

His talent has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by his feature on the single ‘Magic’ by Da Kruk, which was nominated for Best Underground Record of the Year at the 2018 South African Music Awards. This recognition solidified Gaba’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the electronic music scene. In 2020, he collaborated with renowned South African singer Busiswa on the hit single ‘Umhlaba Wonke,’ further showcasing his ability to blend different musical styles and create chart-topping tracks.
