SITEKI – Mlwazie DaPoet releases second poem!
The second poem titled “Power of Love,” by Mlwazie DaPoet debuted on YouTube last week Sunday (16 February 2025). It explores the profound beauty and strength of love in both friendships and romantic relationships.
Born Nolwazi Thusi grew up in Siteki and later relocated to Mbabane, Mpolonjeni, was raised by her mother and paternal grandmother after her father passed away when she was just three years old. Her formative years were spent cultivating a passion for poetry, which she began to actively pursue while attending Enhlanganisweni High School. It was there that she started reciting her work at her church, Mpolonjeni EWC.
When reached for comment she said, “Adopting the name Mlwazie, a nickname derived from my first name, I embraced my identity as a poet. My journey into the world of poetry has been significantly influenced by the works of William Shakespeare, which is a source of my inspiration,” shared Thusi.
The poem reflects on love as a powerful tool and the best medicine. Mlwazie emphasizes its significance, stating, “Love is mentioned several times in the Bible; yes, we love because He first loved us.” The poem is set to be produced by NineFourBeats and Danzero, with the artwork cover created by Neliswa Imbongi Yesive.
In her poetic endeavours, Mlwazie aims to engage and entertain her audience while helping them understand and appreciate the world around them. She believes that poetry serves not only as a creative outlet but also as a means of connection among individuals.
She expressed her hopes for continued support from fellow artists, particularly Bless LePoet, and dreams of collaborating with Msandi Kababa in the future.
In an inspiring message to young poets, she urged them to remain steadfast in their pursuits: “Don’t give up on what you have; let’s mingle with those who share the same vision.”
