EZULWINI – MTN Eswatini has hailed partnerships between government, academia and the private sector as critical to expanding access to digital healthcare services across the country.
Speaking during the prize presentation ceremony for winners of the NOTSA Health App raffle draw, held under the company’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign, MTN Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Jerry Soko said collaboration remained the driving force behind improving the lives of emaSwati through technology.
Soko said the annual Y’ello Care campaign had evolved beyond corporate social responsibility into a platform that brings together organisations with a shared vision of uplifting communities.
“One of the things I value most about Y’ello Care is that it brings together people and organisations who share a common purpose of improving lives in our communities,” he said.
This year’s campaign was held under the theme, “Expanding Equitable Health for Every Community,” with MTN Eswatini partnering with Georgetown University and the Ministry of Health to promote the NOTSA Health App. The digital platform provides users with reliable health information while improving access to healthcare services.
Soko said digital transformation should not only focus on technological advancement but also on solving real challenges facing communities.
“As Eswatini’s digital life partner, we believe digital transformation means using technology to remove barriers, create opportunities and improve lives,” he said.
He commended Georgetown University for developing the NOTSA Health App, describing it as an innovation that helps bridge healthcare gaps by providing timely and accessible health information. He said the application demonstrates how technology can deliver practical solutions that positively impact people’s lives.
Soko also acknowledged the Ministry of Health for supporting the initiative, saying its success was made possible through strong partnerships between government, academia and the private sector.
“The best solutions come from partnerships. When government, academia, the private sector and communities work together, we can achieve far more than we ever could alone,” he said.
He congratulated the winners of the raffle draw and thanked thousands of emaSwati who downloaded and engaged with the app during the campaign. Soko encouraged the public to continue embracing digital innovations that promote healthier communities, saying technology has the potential to build a stronger and more inclusive Eswatini.
