LOBAMBA – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Kingdom of Eswatini share a great deal in common and are bound by a rich and enduring history, as well as a shared development journey.
This, the PM said when introducing King Letsie III of Lesotho before the monarch delivered his speech at Somhlolo National Stadium. The nation had gathered to celebrate King Mswati III’s 40 years on the Throne and 58th birthday.
“Over the years, our paths have remained closely intertwined, reflecting not only our geographical and historical ties but also the deep mutual respect that exists between our two nations and our peoples,” said the PM.
He said it was this spirit of unity and cooperation that continued to strengthen the bonds between the two kingdoms.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Home Affairs, Princess Lindiwe said they stood at the historic threshold of His Majesty’s 40th Coronation Anniversary and 50th Birthday celebration.
“The social and economic transformation our nation has experienced over the past four decades bears testimony to your unparalleled leadership as Head of State. Your steadfast guidance has inspired government and all stakeholders to pursue strategies, policies, and legislation that deliver tangible and meaningful development for the people of Eswatini,” she said.
She said the greatest gift the nation offered on the day was a renewed pledge of love, loyalty, and unity, both to the Throne and to the nation shared national destiny.
She said they reaffirmed unwavering commitment and total dedication to His Majesty’s forward-looking vision, which aspires to see the nation lead the continent and ensure a quality of life aligned with the highest global standards.
