MANZINI – Young people in Manzini will have an opportunity to strengthen their digital and entrepreneurial skills through the MTN Skills Academy, an initiative launched in partnership with the Municipal Council of Manzini to prepare youth for the evolving job market.
The programme, which aligns with International Youth Day 2026, is aimed at empowering young people aged between 15 and 35 who reside within the Manzini urban area. Registration opened on 27 July and will close on 3 August, while training is scheduled to take place from 3 to 7 August.
According to the Municipal Council of Manzini, the initiative seeks to equip participants with practical knowledge in digital skills, career development and entrepreneurship, enabling them to improve their employment prospects and create business opportunities.
The council said investing in young people is essential to building a stronger and more resilient economy, adding that the programme is designed to provide practical tools that support both personal and professional growth.
Eligible participants can register online through the official registration platform or collect and submit physical application forms at Office 8, LaMvelase Building.
The partnership between the Municipal Council of Manzini and MTN Skills Academy reflects ongoing efforts to prepare young people for a technology-driven economy by improving access to skills development opportunities. Organisers believe the training will help participants become more competitive in the labour market while encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to commemorate International Youth Day by investing in youth development and creating pathways for a digitally empowered generation. Through the programme, organisers hope to equip participants with practical skills that can contribute to employment, self-employment and long-term economic growth.
