MATSAPHA— Philani Maswati Chairman Lutfo Dlamini has reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to continuing Her Majesty the Indlovukazi’s vision of empowering and uplifting emaSwati through charity initiatives and community development programmes.
Speaking during the launch of the Biggest Braai 2026, 10th Agape Edition at Embiveni, Dlamini reflected on the history and growth of the popular lifestyle event, describing it as one of the country’s biggest social gatherings that continues to unite communities while supporting charitable causes.
Dlamini explained that Philani Maswati was founded as the Her Majesty the Queen Mother’s dream to assist and improve the lives of emaSwati. He said the organisation has continued to carry out that mandate over the years through various initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable members of society.
He further revealed that Philani Maswati has established an old age home situated at Mantjonga on a 25-hectare piece of land, providing care and support for elderly citizens.
The chairman also spoke about the Philani Maswati smart card membership programme, where members subscribe for E200 to join the initiative. According to Dlamini, the smart card can be used for purchases at stores and garages across the country, making it beneficial to members while also contributing towards sustaining the organisation’s charitable work.
Dlamini extended gratitude to sponsors and partners who have come on board to support the Biggest Braai 2026. Among those acknowledged were Robertson’s Spices, eBet, Embiveni and other stakeholders who continue to invest in the success of the event.
He said the support from sponsors plays a significant role in ensuring the continued growth of Biggest Braai, which he described as the “baby” of the Philani Maswati Charity Organisation and a platform that continues to advance the Indlovukazi’s vision of caring for and empowering communities.
