MANZINI – DJ Maphorisa says Eswatini always shows up for him, and last night’s turnout was proof that the love is real.
It wasn’t just a performance, it was a vibe overload at Xchange Lounge & Shisanyama in Ngwane Park, Manzini, as DJ Maphorisa headlined a jam-packed One Man Show that pulled over 2,000 fun lovers into one explosive night of music, energy, and star power.
DJ Maphorisa, known to his fans as Phori, said he was overwhelmed by the massive turnout and the electric reception he received the moment he stepped out.
“I always enjoy performing in Eswatini because of the love and support I get here. Last night was another level. I’m truly grateful to the people of Eswatini for coming out in numbers every single time,” he said, still beaming after his set.
He also took a moment to thank rising visual artist Andile Samkelo, who surprised him on stage with a bold, fresh portrait. “Big love to Andile for the dope artwork. I didn’t expect it, it’s beautiful. Thank you for honouring me in such a special way,” Phori said, as the two posed for pictures while the crowd applauded.
From the minute the decks heated up, it was clear that the event, curated by Sbu the Drum DJ, was going to be nothing short of legendary. Fans spilled out of both the VIP and general sections, and even those without tickets camped outside just to feel the energy.
Sbu the Drum DJ, the man behind the magic, expressed deep appreciation for the support. “This night was unforgettable. To see Phori own the stage like that, to feel the crowd respond with so much love, it means everything. Thanks to everyone who showed up and showed love,” he said, clearly riding the wave of success.
The night’s soundtrack was lit with hits, Amapiano bangers, timeless classics and hip-hop heaters, all delivered with precision by a star-studded lineup including Masterpiece YVK, Uncool MC, and the host himself.
At one point, the dance floor turned into a full-blown dance-off with the Cash Kontant challenge lighting up the venue, while DJ Maphorisa led the crowd like a general in a party parade.
Local music lover Mbekezeli Dlamini, a self-declared Xchange regular, said the vibe was unmatched. “I come here often, but last night? That was something else. It felt like a festival, but inside a lounge. Superstars under one roof – what more can you ask for?” he said.
Also spotted was South African TV personality Sweet Guluva, who received a warm welcome from fans. “The energy here is always different. I love it every time I come. Big ups to Eswatini for always showing love,” he said as he mingled with fans snapping selfies.
The show wasn’t just a party – it was an all-out experience. A night where culture, creativity and music collided, leaving everyone in attendance with memories to last a lifetime.
As Phori put it best, “This place always shows me love. I’ll keep coming back.”
With a performance that sparked a frenzy and left the crowd still buzzing into the early hours, one thing is certain, Eswatini loves Phori, and Phori loves Eswatini right back.
