MBABANE – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) and Radisol Global Investments (RGI) have launched a strategic commercialisation and development partnership aimed at unlocking the commercial potential of football in the Kingdom.
The partnership will focus on attracting strategic investment, developing sponsorship and corporate partnerships, strengthening clubs and competitions, and creating sustainable opportunities across Eswatini’s football ecosystem.
RGI will support the PLE in identifying, packaging and pursuing commercial opportunities spanning sponsorships, investment, media and broadcasting, events, competitions, youth and women’s football, infrastructure and strategic partnerships.
PLE Chairperson Polycarp Dlamini said the partnership marked an important step towards building a more commercially sustainable and professionally managed league.
“The future of Eswatini football depends on stronger commercial foundations, professional administration and meaningful partnerships. Our collaboration with Radisol Global Investments is an important step towards unlocking the value of our football and creating sustainable opportunities for the Premier League and its stakeholders,” Dlamini said.
RGI Founder Sol Motsepe said the partnership sought to position football as a platform for economic opportunity, investment and development.
“Football is an important economic, social and commercial platform. Our partnership with the Premier League of Eswatini is about unlocking that potential, attracting investment and building opportunities that create lasting value for the league, its clubs, players and the people of Eswatini,” Motsepe said.
The partnership will combine local participation with regional and international reach, with RGI working alongside local businesses, including SkyFly, as well as SADC and international partners.
RGI Managing Director Puleng Magape said the immediate priority was to develop credible commercial propositions and connect them with aligned partners.
“Our approach is to identify the value within the Premier League’s football properties, develop strong commercial propositions and connect them with partners whose objectives align with the development of football in Eswatini,” Magape said.
The partnership will prioritise commercial asset development, sponsorship and investment facilitation, stakeholder engagement, media opportunities, club strengthening, and youth and women’s football development.
Both organisations stressed that commercialisation should ultimately translate into tangible developmental value for football in Eswatini.
“We want a stronger league, stronger clubs and better opportunities for our players. Commercialisation must serve the development of football in Eswatini,” Dlamini said.
The PLE and RGI have invited businesses, investors, development institutions, media organisations and other stakeholders to engage with them on opportunities to support the growth and commercial development of football in Eswatini.
