MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini today welcomed the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Eswatini, H.E. Andreas Peschke, for a courtesy visit at the Private and Cabinet Office.

The meeting underscored the strong and growing ties between Eswatini and Germany, with discussions focused on expanding cooperation in education, industry, and energy development.

A key highlight of the talks was the shared commitment to advancing Eswatini’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. The Prime Minister commended Germany’s historic contribution to the establishment of the Gwamile Voctim College through the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GTZ), noting that it remains a vital foundation for skills development in the country.

Building on this legacy, the PM invited Germany to collaborate further in strengthening Eswatini’s TVET curriculum, including introducing specialised training modules such as mechanical engineering for German vehicles. This initiative aims to equip local youth with advanced, industry-relevant skills and create new employment pathways.

The meeting also explored Eswatini’s industrialisation goals, particularly efforts to enhance the nation’s energy generation capacity to sustain industrial growth. Additionally, discussions covered potential German support in bolstering the Eswatini Stock Exchange and the ongoing collaboration with the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation (DGRV), which recently established a local office in the Kingdom.

Dlamini expressed optimism that these areas of cooperation will further strengthen bilateral relations and contribute to Eswatini’s vision of sustainable development and economic resilience.
