…… Eswatini stands in solidarity with flood-stricken Eastern Cape

MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has conveyed a powerful message of condolence and solidarity to the Republic of South Africa following the devastating floods in the Eastern Cape that have claimed the lives of at least 57 people.

Speaking on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III, Her Majesty the Queen Mother, the Government and the people of Eswatini, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and communities affected by the disaster.

“I have the honour, on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III, Her Majesty the Queen Mother, the Government and the People of the Kingdom of Eswatini, to express our heartfelt condolences following the tragic loss of at least 57 lives in the recent floods that have devastated the Eastern Cape,” said Dlamini. “Our hearts go out to the families and communities affected by this disaster.”

In his statement, the Prime Minister praised the bravery and dedication of the rescue teams and volunteers on the ground, many of whom continue to work around the clock to reach those in need.

“As rescue operations continue, we stand in prayer for the affected communities. We commend the tireless efforts of emergency responders and volunteers who are working around the clock to provide assistance and comfort,” he said.

He concluded with words of encouragement and unity: “In this time of sorrow, may the Government and the People of the Republic of South Africa find strength in unity and compassion.”

The Kingdom of Eswatini has long maintained close cultural, political, and historical ties with South Africa, and this message reaffirms the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood between the two nations during moments of hardship.
