MBABANE – The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) has achieved a significant victory against drug trafficking.

On Monday, the Anti-Narcotics Unit, working jointly across all four regions, carried out a successful raid in Nyonyane under the Mliba Police Station area.

The operation led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man who was found in possession of 2 169 kg of dagga, with an estimated street value of E5.4 million.

During the search, officers uncovered a homestead being used as a storage hub. Inside, they retrieved 277 bags of dagga, along with additional unprocessed stock. This major seizure is one of the largest in recent times and highlights the effectiveness of coordinated law enforcement efforts.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Mbabane Magistrate’s Court today to face charges.

This breakthrough reflects the REPS’s unwavering dedication to protecting society from the harmful effects of illegal drugs. Citizens are encouraged to continue cooperating with the police under the ongoing #Sikhona and #NaweUliPhoyisa campaigns, which emphasize community partnership in crime prevention.
