MBABANE – Lizinyane Prince Mcwasho and Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, visited the Jonnson Workwear construction site today to inspect progress on the ambitious project aimed at bolstering industrial development and creating job opportunities across Eswatini.
Prince Mcwasho, who is Head of Operations at Construction Associates, accompanied the minister during the tour. He guided the delegation alongside the construction team, providing insights into the ongoing developments and operational procedures. The visit offered a firsthand look at the project’s milestones, timelines, and infrastructure plans, providing assurance that the construction is proceeding smoothly and according to schedule.
The tour was formally led by Merica Vilakati, Managing Director of Construction Associates, who briefed the Minister on every stage of the development. Vilakati highlighted that the project remains on track, with construction targets being met and quality standards rigorously maintained. The site visit also served as an opportunity to identify any potential challenges and address them proactively, ensuring that the project stays aligned with its intended outcomes.
Minister Khumalo praised the dedication and efficiency of the construction team and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting projects that contribute to the country’s industrial growth.
“We are pleased with the progress at the Jonnson Workwear site. Initiatives like this are essential for job creation, industrial expansion, and strengthening Eswatini’s economy. The Ministry remains committed to facilitating a favorable environment for investors and ensuring that projects are executed successfully,” he said.
The Jonnson Workwear project is expected to have a significant impact on Eswatini’s manufacturing sector, providing employment opportunities for local communities and enhancing the country’s capacity to produce high-quality workwear products.
