VULAMASANGO– Bringing hope and support to vulnerable youth, Eswatini Red Cross youth volunteers donated sanitation and hygiene packs worth E10 000 to learners at Vulamasango School on April 18, 2026.
The half-day outreach programme combined the donation with life-skills training, as children and youth engaged in activities aimed at promoting personal development, hygiene awareness and positive behaviour.
Speaking during the event, Youth Vice President Dolly Sihlongonyane unpacked the principles of the Red Cross Movement, which were well received by the learners. The session was complemented by interactive activities led by Khetsimphilo, who used games to teach practical life skills.
Youth President Thabo Mdluli expressed appreciation to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for partnering with Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society in reaching out to the young people.
“We also thank the authorities of His Majesty’s Correctional Services for allowing us to come and share this day with you. We hope to return and continue supporting you through more activities,” said Mdluli.
The school’s Rehabilitation Officer, Mbongeni Dlamini, welcomed the initiative and commended the volunteers for dedicating their time to uplift the youth.
“This is a huge gift to the youth and we are grateful. Your support is encouraging and will go a long way in improving their well-being. Please convey our sincere appreciation to your leadership,” said Dlamini.
In addition to the hygiene packs, the Baphalali youth volunteers also distributed clothing items donated by emaSwati, ensuring that both boys and girls benefited from the initiative.
The outreach highlighted the organisation’s continued commitment to empowering young people through both material support and life-enhancing skills.
