MANZINI – In the vibrant world of music, few stories resonate as deeply as that of Khayelihle Mdumseni Dlamini, known by his stage name K.M.Dee. At just 25 years old, this talented Gospel rapper from Gebeni has made significant strides in his career, captivating audiences with his powerful messages and unique sound.
K.M.Dee’s musical journey began in his formative years. Growing up in a supportive environment, he attended St Bernards Primary School and later graduated from Egebeni High School. “I grew up with a deep faith and a profound reverence for the Lord, which has shaped my life in incredible ways. Now, I feel a powerful calling to share that faith through Hip Hop, a genre that resonates with so many,” Dlamini shared.
By blending his love for music with his spiritual journey, K.M.Dee aims to inspire others and spread messages of hope, love, and redemption. “Hip Hop has the power to connect hearts and minds, and I want to use it as a platform to preach the good news and uplift those who need it most,” he stated passionately.
He embarked on his music career in 2020 as an independent artist. His passion for Gospel rap fuelled his desire to create music that not only entertains but also uplifts and inspires. In 2022, he took a significant step forward by signing with Arial Empire, a move that opened doors to new opportunities and collaborations.
In 2023, K.M.Dee released his hit single “Kunini Solo Skhala,” featuring talented artists MastaMongi, Lucky Mohawk, and Bulie. This track quickly gained traction, receiving airplay on popular radio stations like EBIS 1 and 2. With relatable themes and catchy beats, the song marked a pivotal moment in his career.
His ability with the Young Buffaloes on a theme track highlights his versatility and commitment to creating music that connects with diverse audiences.
Beyond his musical achievements, K.M.Dee is dedicated to giving back to his community. He views his art as a platform to spread messages of hope and encouragement, especially to those facing challenges.
Currently he is working on his EP, “Ubizo Lwam,” which he describes as “more than just a collection of songs; it’s a heartfelt message for everyone in Eswatini.” He emphasizes the importance of collaboration, inviting fellow artists to join him on this project, stating, “Unity in music is essential for spreading our message.” His upcoming EP aims to reach the hearts of Emaswati, offering a message of resilience and support.
