MBABANE- Joy, pride and celebration filled the arrivals terminal on Sunday, 29 March 2026, as gospel artist Sabelo Matse returned home from a successful tour of Zimbabwe that has marked a defining chapter in his musical journey.
Matse had departed Eswatini on Friday, 27 March 2026, for the regional visit — a trip many are describing as historic for the country’s creative industry. Hosted by Edd Branson Publishers, the tour opened doors for the singer to minister through music on international platforms while proudly flying the Eswatini flag beyond the Kingdom’s borders.
His travel was made possible through the support of national carrier Eswatini Air, working together with the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office to ensure that the rising gospel star could take his message of faith and hope to new audiences.
More significantly, Matse undertook the journey as a person with a disability — a reality that did not deter him, but rather strengthened his resolve to prove that talent and purpose know no physical limitations.
Throughout the tour, Matse visited several places, met new people, and shared stages with different audiences who welcomed him with warmth and honour. His performances were not only musical showcases, but moments of testimony, inspiration, and cultural exchange.
Despite the demands of travel, unfamiliar environments, and a packed programme, Matse remained focused on his mission. He explained that careful planning, support from his hosts, and unwavering faith helped him cope with the physical and emotional demands of the trip. He paced himself between engagements, ensured accessibility arrangements were in place, and leaned on the encouragement of those around him. Above all, he said prayer and determination kept him going.
“I am really happy. I was received with honour and visited many places while in Zimbabwe. My heartfelt appreciation goes to Eswatini Air, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, and Honourable Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla for believing in me and supporting my journey,” he said with a smile.
He described the visit as eye-opening and motivating, saying it has encouraged him to work even harder in his music ministry and to continue representing persons with disabilities with pride.
Matse’s successful tour is being viewed as more than an individual achievement. It highlights how collaboration between government, private sector, and international partners can uplift local talent and position Eswatini’s creative voices on regional platforms.
As he arrived home to cheers and congratulations, Sabelo Matse’s story became a powerful reminder that dreams are valid, barriers can be broken, and with belief and backing, Eswatini’s talent can reach the world.
