MALKERNS – Rising Eswatini artist Sarnilo is set to take centre stage at the fifth edition of the Makoti Festival on 02 May 2026 at Malkerns Country Club, as anticipation builds for one of the country’s leading cultural events.
Organisers recently unveiled Sarnilo as part of the festival lineup, with the multi-talented performer expected to deliver one of the standout acts of the day. She will perform alongside a live band, offering festivalgoers a unique musical experience that will include exclusive songs, some performed live for the first time.
Speaking ahead of the event, Sarnilo expressed excitement about returning to the festival, this time as a performer. She recalled attending a previous edition headlined by Sjava, describing the atmosphere as electrifying. She said being part of the lineup now marks a significant and rewarding moment in her career.
The Makoti Festival continues to grow in stature, positioning itself as a key platform for promoting local and regional talent while celebrating cultural identity. Sarnilo acknowledged the importance of such opportunities, noting that they allow artists to expand their reach and connect with wider audiences.
Her rising profile is backed by notable achievements, including being named Spotify’s Best Fresh Find in 2024 and representing Eswatini at the Spotify Africa Writing Camp. She also shared the stage with international artist Wyclef Jean during a special jam session, further cementing her growing reputation.
Known for blending SiSwati and Chichewa influences, Sarnilo’s sound reflects her Malawian and Swati heritage. As a singer, songwriter, rapper and poet, she continues to build a strong following across the region.
With the festival date approaching, expectations remain high as Sarnilo prepares to deliver a performance that could define this year’s edition of the Makoti Festival.
