EZULWINI – As Jesus Christ said that believers will do greater works than He did in the Gospel of John, specifically in John 14:12, His Majesty King Mswati III has done exactly that after he declared life and healing to 7-year-old Thandolubandzi Maziya.
The touching moment happened when His Majesty toured Khanyisile HYM Clinic at Enyonyane, Ezulwini, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, before officially opening the health facility.
Thandolubandzi was brought before the King by his mother during the tour.
The 7-year-old was diagnosed with a rare illness at birth, with what appears to be a growing tumour on the side of his face.
Upon seeing the young boy, the King asked: “Kwamucalanini kugula?”
His Majesty then told him: “Sewuphilile.”
The declaration brought a deeply emotional moment as the King interacted with the child and his mother during his tour of the new health facility.
Later, speaking at Ezulwini Palazzo, His Majesty returned to the story of the young boy and revealed that he had already seen pictures of him before meeting him in person.
“A young man was brought before me today. I had seen his pictures before today and I was very impressed to see his recovery when I saw him in person today in the company of his mother,” said the King.
His Majesty said he had been informed that the child had been receiving treatment at Khanyisile HYM Clinic and was now much better.
He said credit must be given to the new health facility because he had been told that this was where the young boy had been receiving treatment.
The King’s encounter with Thandolubandzi came as he officially opened the clinic, which has been established as a significant addition to healthcare services in the Ezulwini area.
The Prime Minister, Russell Mmiso Dlamini, said Government welcomed the establishment of the facility and the partnership behind it.
“Today, we have witnessed the official opening of a clinic that will serve the community of Ezulwini and the people of Eswatini. This is indeed a gesture of goodwill by the founders of this excellent facility,” said the Prime Minister.
Dlamini said Government acknowledged the importance of such facilities and partnerships in complementing its efforts to improve healthcare services in the Kingdom.
He said Government looked forward to working together with the health centre to ensure mutual and optimal benefit for emaSwati.
The Minister of Health, Mduduzi Matsebula, described the opening as an historic occasion, saying the facility represented more than a new health centre but a partnership for shared development.
He said the clinic brought healthcare closer to the heart of Ezulwini’s transformation while advancing the country’s commitment to Universal Health Coverage.
The Minister also thanked the international partners from the Republic of Korea, particularly the Hee Yeon Memorial (HYM) family and organisation, for their contribution towards the facility.
Meanwhile, the King also highlighted the quality of equipment he had seen at the clinic, saying he had seen similar equipment being used in health facilities in countries that had already attained first-world status.
The visit therefore combined the official opening of a new healthcare facility with a deeply personal encounter between the King and a young emaSwati whose recovery had caught His Majesty’s attention.
As the King looked at the young Thandolubandzi and declared, “Sewuphilile,” the words became the defining moment of the clinic’s historic opening.
