MBABANE- The Shiselweni phase of Eswatini’s army recruitment exercise has officially concluded, Brigadier General Sotja Dlamini announced during an interview with the media, congratulating all successful candidates.
The exercise now moves to the Lubombo Region, starting with Matsanjeni North and Lugongolweni Inkhundla on October 30, 2025, followed by Mhlume and Lomahasha on November 1, 2025.
Speaking at the conclusion of the Shiselweni phase at Metfula Inkhundla on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Brigadier General Dlamini expressed gratitude to both participants and the media.
“We thank God that He was with us throughout this exercise in Shiselweni. I am pleased to report that there were no accidents during the process. I also want to acknowledge the media for the great job they have done in keeping the public informed. Please continue with this good work,” he said.
Dlamini reminded candidates in Lubombo about the requirements for the next phase, emphasising the need for proper identification.
“Each candidate must present their original National Identity Card, which must correspond to the relevant chief code of the Inkhundla they are applying from. Applicants must be liSwati citizens aged between 18 and 35. We also encourage community leaders to be present to assist in the verification process, so there are no disputes regarding a candidate’s eligibility,” he stated.
The process is strictly merit-based, and candidates are warned against paying anyone to influence the outcome.
The upcoming schedule in Lubombo is as follows:
- Matsanjeni North and Lugongolweni – October 30, 2025
- Mhlume and Lomahasha – November 1, 2025
- Mpolonjeni and Dvokodweni – November 4, 2025
- Nkilongo and Lubulini – November 6, 2025
- Sithobela and Siphofaneni – November 8, 2025
- Gilgal – November 11, 2025
Brigadier Dlamini concluded with a note of encouragement: “To all successful candidates, remain disciplined as you prepare for the next stages. Your dedication and commitment will define your future in the Eswatini Defence Forces.”
The nation now turns Its attention to Lubombo as the recruitment drive continues to strengthen Eswatini’s armed forces.
